Jacob Johnson Dies In Florida A former resident of Kodiak, prior to the war years and after, died in Florida Tuesday at the age of 75. Word was received here or the death Tuesday of Jake A. Johnson, well-known in Alaska, especially in Kodiak, where he resided from 1921 until 1947. He died in New port Richey, Florida. Johnson operated a fox farm on Crooked Island for a number of years. Prior to that he lived in Su silna and Anchorage. He operated a freight service 'rom Seward and Anchorage to Kodiak with the Lcats Oi ve and Nile. Johnson op erated the boat Olive with the first surveyors aboard laying out the Naval Station here. He was a lifetime member o" he Ma. On :. He h .s been in semi retirement the past several . ears. His birthplace was Estonia. The deceased is survived by his wife Helen: three sons, Robert of Kodiak, Edward and Addison; a daughter. Helen King of Kodiak. He had eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 'I be U. S.
