Mallory Banks gave Richard his bride and Violet Banks was the*only attendant ...she was lovely In peach chiffon, smocked cunningly at the waist line. she carried hln» delphinium. . ■ Louise was a vision. as well she can be. with her little doll face in billowy white net. modeled with a cute jacket Her veil came only to her waist line and flowed from a cap. of orange blossoms. .. .It was of lace trimmed net. . her bouquet was of white calla lilies.... Father Dade performed the ceremony while two tiny altar boys held lighted candles. .. during the entire ceremony. "A Peculiar Treasure,” which is an autobiography in her letter which accompanied s he gift, she says in part that the gift is a compliment to my “Gaddings” which she says she reads . The book concerns the rise of Edna Ferber from a columnist on a small newspaper .she goes on to compli ment me for my efforts in the theatre and to mention in particular our latest play. ”The Children’s Hour”.... Art institute las*. Tuesday evening. ! ] under the sponsorship of Mrs. La HCtatre Knox; instructor of the I group. The recital was jtaged by young . * sters, members of Mrs. Knox’ dance class. Color, grace and youthful charm combined to make this dance parade a real treat to those who were present as well as an exhi i bitlon of unusual talent and feel j mg on the part of the participants, j Included in the dance were; "The Parade,' by Ben Hen | derson, Jr.. Joyce Mays. Dorothy Greenfield, Betty De Shileds and Barbara McCrary was solo dancer. Very beautifully colorful was the Rainbow dance in which Ben Henderson and Harriet Anderson were soloists. The church was beautiful with palms, baskets of flowers and a decorated arch under' which the couple stood, a white car-j pet extended from the altar, down the aisle to the entrance. Prof. N.' Heartffleid presided at the piano. I Ethel Lee was a lovely bride. She ! wore the traditional white. Her gown of rosepoint lace and chiffon , was princess effect with a long train. The long veil from a cap I of rosepoint lace covered the train of her gown, elbow length gloves I and white satin sandals complet ed the ensemble. She carried a [ bouquet of Jilies of the valley. Ethel was given in marriage by her fatH- ; er, O. E. Wilson. Mrs. Pauline Underwood was ma-1 Iron of honor. Her costume con-1 slsted of blue siik net over pink • which composed an unusual cos tume. She wore a flattering cha-, peau to match. She carried a show er bouquet of delphiniums and gyp sophilia. Mi.ss Alma Green, maid of honor, was lovely in dusty pink j lace, the head was covered harem fashion with pink net caught -in front with a coronet of rose buds, the covering extended to shoul-| dors. Bridesmaids were: Misses Callie j Smith, Erwine Rolling, Danzella Sparks, Mary White, Essie Allen and Lillie Hutchinson. The two colors carried out in their costumes were peach and blue silk net over satin ... all were made alike . . long fuH skirts with three tiers of ruffles at bottom and around neck line and tiny blue bows placed at intervals among the ruffles, fitted bodices with square neck-lines . . short puffed sleeves. They wore harem style over-all veils caught in front with rosebuds. I the veils extended to shoulders and [ they carried shower bouquets of j blue delphiniums and gypsophilia. j Willie Harold was Bens best man., Ushers were: Woodrow Hunt, Lo-1 renzo Blount, Jerry Brown, Cha'tles; James, Silvan Peoples, Otto John- i son. I. D.'s party Thursday night,. j and in her words "It was definitely j a gala affair." The evening began! | with an elaborate buffet supper at ! the home of T. I. D. Lorraine Moss, j who was unable to participate, by I reason of the fact, that she was i j confined to bed with an infected j J throat. She was too. too sad, when ! i all the gay lads and lassies romped j off to the dance leaving her in a : barrage of ice bags, etc., her lovely I : new dimity formal hanging deserted in the closet. The Moss home on King avenue which was the scene of the buffet j supper, is spacious and beautifully • appointed. Youngsters had taken complete possession and were bulg-; ing out of all the doors and crowd-! ed onto the patio-style porch. The Mosses have an unusual and rare collection of old silver and it all. came into use at the supper.
