Gunns In Gay Wedding Reception By BETTE ELLINGTON Another one of the season's color ful affairs took place on the West side Friday evening of last week, when Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gunn of 6351 Vinewood gave their wedding reception. The charming Mrs. Gunn was very picturesque in a long trailing white lace evening gown and the rcceivirg line in cluded Mrs. Holt, mother of the Robert Williams, Mrs. Bess Wil liams of Alexander City, Ala : Mrs. Lula Fennay. and Mrs. J. E. Weaver cf Birmingham, Ala. Mrs. Holt wore pompadour rose I loce, Mrs. Parks was in brown or ganza redingote. Mrs. Bess Williams, | rose chiffon, Mrs. Lula Fennay. blue satin, and Mrs. Weaver, black crepe. Mr. Qunn is the assistant district manager of the Great Lakes Mutual Insurance company; the bride was formerly the Miss Lynett Dobbins, society editor of the New York edi tion of the Chicago Defender. She came to Detroit from New York City on June 18, when the wedding Attendants were Mrs. Minnie Pearson in floral taffeta. Miss Emory White in bouffant frock of blue marquesette, Miss Mayme Lo gan in white beaded satin, Messrs. Lucius Gunn and William Palmer. The decorations were gladioli and many late sumer flowers. Upon leaving Detroit they planned to make an extensive tour of the East. Their first stop will be New York, where Jesse will attend the Alpha convention as well as the Fair. In cidentally. Mary Agnes Miller is one of the main attractions in his visits to Detroit according to Mr. Mann's statements. Detroiters of the older group . . . will be grieved to learn of the death of Miss Cecelia Wilkinson . . . who passed away Sunday morning at the ripe old age of 81 . . . Mrs. Mills Is Club Hostess The home of Mrs. Mills on Beech wood avenue was the scene of a club meeting for the Le Club De Trece last Wednesday. After a brief meeting, a discussion was held to formulate plans for an annual social affair to be held in early fall. Mrs. Sadie Mickle who is vaca tioning at the New York World's Fair was missed by all those pres ent at club meeting. The latter part of the evening was spent in playing pokeno.
