Perhaps most inspiring to the group of young people who attended were the groups entitled The Evo lution of A Young Composer. The piece was played in three group--, the first which contained the Gold f.?h, Pmnochio, The Cockroach Bal bz+T-gjnd The Arabian Suite <lm- the-, Arabian Nights). ihes« were Contphsed when Phillip pa was between the ages of four and six; the second, composed when she was between seven and ten included A Christmas Story, Twt .ight and Morning, Minuet and Men „t Work (WPA S 3 go); the third group composed when she was be tween nine and ten years of age. included Persian Poem, Shado v< Dancing, The Waves, and The Sung of The Machine. The f.rst ten of Phillippa's compo sition* were recorded at the time they were written by New York university. She has over a hundred compositions to her credit. This month she began the study of com position with Otto Ccsana, however all of the original compositions used on her Detroit recital, wen. composed before she had hud form al study, and reveal her natural development unaided by theory, no ch-.nges have been made in any of ne compositions by adults.
