RACE RELATIONS POLL NOW NEAR ITS COMPLETION NEW YORK CITY—The annual nation-wide poll for the Honor Roll in Race Relations is nearly completed, according to Dr. L. D. Reddick, curator of the Schomburg Collection of the New York Public library A majority of the ballots from all sections of the country are already in and the tabulations have begun. A committee of 100 promi nent persons representing every section of the nation, every f.eld of endeavor and every political and religious view submits the names of those Negroes and white persons who have contributed most to the real improvement of race relations during the past year. Dr. Reddick warned the public not to be misled by imitations of the Honor Roll in Race Relations He said, "For the past five years th? Schomburg Collection of Negro Literature of the New York Public library has conducted the Honor Roll in Race Relations. We origi nated this idea to fill a great public need. Up to now this has been the only Honor Roll in the nation which has named white persons as well as Negroes who have fought against injustice to the Negro and for the improvement of race relations tn terms of real democracy. This year, however, a certain midwestern newspaper has begun another Honor Roll in Race Relations which is based on the same principle and uses almost the identical words and form of the original Honor Roll of the Schomburg collect.on. “The public should not be con fused,” continued Dr. Reddick, “by imitations or any other fakes which have the effect of cheapening the whole idea." As usual, the official Honor Roll in Race Relations will be announced over the Columbia Broadcasting s>stem and the British Broadcasting corporation and in the daily and weekly press during Negro History week. ft's (A# HOTEL THERESA Whom In NEW YORK say stasoo as Om yssr Brief Is Filed For Davis Case By NAACP Body NEW YORK.
