The Reverend Samuel Davis, ttys groom's uncle, read the nuptial ceremony. The bride,’ who was given In marriage by Mr. Walker Smith, best friend of her late father, ap proached the altar in her bridal robe of eggshell satin, which fell into a * full-length train. It was made on lines of becoming and appropriate simplicity, with ap pliques Of brocaded lover's knots at the bodice and about the skirt Her veil was of finger-tip length and she carried a white prayer book tq which a rare white orchid was attached. The bride's sister Mrs. Justine Casey, was her trow of honor. She wore char treuse taffeta and carried la vends mums. Ralph Sapp, of the US. Navy acted as beat man for Sgt. Davis Mrs Wingfield, the brides moth er. -waa lovely in aqua jersey. Her corsage was made of tea rosea Mrs. Devis, mother of the groom chose black, and a corsage also made of tea roses. tiny Elaine Stanford and Patri ck Brown were the flower girls They were quaint in white floor frocks. The wedding reception immedi •lely followed the ceremony and w.is held in the clubrooms of the women's Federation Ferry at g-ush streets. In the second movement, Glen Stewart and Mr. C. Wilkes from Cleve land were high point winners and Lydia Goggins and William Friend came in second * * * WESTS IDE CHATTER: MEET MRS MORTON Tall, stately, with a dynamic personality, that's “Bess” Morton 1 as she is affectionately called by I her friends. Mrs. Morton is the wife of Major Roy Morton and a member of the prominent Talbert family. Our outstanding woman at tended Wilberforce university, graduating from there in educa tion. she did work at How ard and at Wayne university. She teaches at the Bishop school and has been employed there longer than any other teacher. “Bess” is a woman possessed of great cour age and a winning personality, having inherited these traits from her illustrious mother, beloved S. Frankie Talbert, who for a num ber of years served as resident secretary at the YWCA. Mrs. Mor ton, in addition to teaching, finds time to drive a Red Cross Motor Ambulance, work in the YM and YWCA. Evelyn 1 Montjoy, Betty Swan, and Elmina 1 Gibson. The affair, which was held between the hours of five and eight, was attended by throngs of Hertha's friends. The hostesses had an exception ally pretty and effective color scheme. The dining room table was covered with a lovely lace cloth. In the center of it was a white dias with the figure of a naval officer and a bride. All around the table were gaily-col ored pastel hors doeuvres, and at each end crystal bowls contained champagne and rum cocktails. Petite Hertha, who left Tuesday to become the bride of Lt. <J.g.> Joseph Jenkins, was radiant In a soft blue dress, with a square neck ending in a bow at the left side. Her corsage was white car nations. a gift from the hostesses Her 4iny calot of the same mate rial as the dress, was adorned with two plumes, one pink, the • other blue. Her accessories were black. Particularly stunning, too, were > the hostesses. Elmina Gibson wore brown crepe with a sequin front; j Mrs. Germany Bennet chose a be coming emerald green moire aft ernoon puit, Mr*. Montjoy wore a black crepe trimmed with sequins, and Mrs. Swan wore a beige dress with short cape sleeves. Her gloves were browm elbow length. The honorye 'received a beauti ful array of gifts, including hand kerchiefs, linens, perfumes, co loges and jewelry.
