Qthsemane Church Extends Call to Rev.
Paul Matthews to Become
Assistant Pastor.
The reports given at the annual meeting
of Gethsemane church last evening indi
cate increased activity among all of the
church societies. All sources of income
show a slight increase this year over last
year. The total receipts for the year
were $19,551.49, and the expenses $19,-
464.22, leaving a balance of $87.27.
It was voted to extend a call to Rev.
Paul Matthews, Cincinnati, Ohio, to come
to Gethsemane church as associate pas
tor with the right of succession to office
of rector. Action was taken to have the
vestrymen hereafter elected in three
groups for periods of one. two and three
years respectively, instead of choosing all
at each annual meeting. The election of
officers resulted as follows: Senior ward
en. Emil F. Weitzcl Junior warden, C. C.
Church vestrymen -for three years,
Thomas Miles, Cornelius Gutgesell,
Thomas B. Chambers vestrymen for two
years, G. A. N. King, J. A. Chase, William
G. Judd vestrymen for one year, L. O.
