Small Score. New Haven, Conn., Nov. 17. Among Yale men the feeling is gain ing ground that the match with Har vard, which will wind up the football season for both elevens next Saturday, will prove a harder battle than that with Princeton. Among Tale coaches and trainers the opinion is felt that Harvard has been, rushing along at a double quick pace for a month, and that Yale has the hardest task of the year ahead of her to win next Satur day's game on Soldiers' field. When Amherst won from Harvard a feeling began to be held at Yale that there was a possibility that the blue might be able to wipe out the memory of the game on Soldiers' field two years ago when Charley Gould's eleven was whipped, 22 to 0, by a bigger score being rolled up by Yale this fall against the crimson. This hope has dwindled down to nothing now, and the Yale leaders will feel that they are doing well if they can get away with victory by a comfortable margin next Saturday. At present the task of filling in the gap between the two big games of the year without the eleven going stale or backward in their playing or One Night Dispels GOLDS and "GRIP" H-?:^*.!'T UESHA Y^ EVENING with all debilitating after effects-JF YOV USE 0RAN6EINE $s (Powders) Under simple directions In every package. Many of the play ers will be taken away, for a few days, and a line-up to-day and Wednesday for a short time is all that the regu lars will be expected to do. The novelty of a trip to Boston two days before the game with Harvard is to be tried this year, splitting up the week between the Princeton and the Harvard games. The Yale squad will leave here next Thursday morn ing for Auburndale, and will be quar tered in the clubhouse there till Sat urday morning, when they will go over to Cambridge. The coaches feel that the change will do the play ers good, even if they are in the heart of the "enemy's country." About twenty-five men will be taken to Cam bridge aside from the-coaches, train ers and assistants. Yale's eleven probably will be sent against Harvard in almost exactly the same order that it faced Princeton. As usual, it will be the policy to use the fast second string of backs part of the game,, and it is thought that fif teen or sixteen men will get into the play before it finishes. SITUATION IS MUDDI/ED Many Surprises Sprung in the East the Present Season. New York, Nov. 17."The, football season is all awry," says a football critic in one of the local papers. "Here are the Pennsylvanias, who, in Sep tember, were the best quaker team in half a dozen years, now reduced to third raters by three defeats. Har vard has been beaten twice by minor college teams and scored on so often as to become deadened to sensation. West Point, by no means a top-notch team, defeats wh at is at least the sec ond-best team in the west, and Yale, altho possessing greater power, is beaten by Princeton, who, however excellent in all around work, had smoothed off the rough edges .better than Yale and had proved the better player. "That vigilance and tip-top condi tion that rounds out a team to cham pionship form was Princeton's, altho there was not the smashing power to the team that Yale had. There are many opinions as to why Princeton won and Yale lost, but, boiled down, they come to about the same reasons the playing of Dewitt and Yale's fumbling and penalties incurred with touchdowns in sight. "These are the direct causes leading to the result, but behind them are the superior alertness of Princeton, a su perb morale, fine conditionthe win ning team nearly always' finishes stronger than the loserand a general wide-awakeness and a quickness and determination in seizing opportunities. /'Princeton is indisputably the foot ball champion of the year. Yale men will concede that, tho they may feel that they should have won the cham pionship." RECEIPTS REACH $50,000 Yale Will Get Over $20,000 from the Princeton Game. New York Sun Special Service. New Haven, Conn., Nov. 17.It was stated last night by the Yale football management that Yale's net receipts from the Princeton game -nould amount to over $20,000. The total gate receipts reached $50,000, and out of this will have to come about $10,000 for expenses, which will leave X40,000 to be equally di vided between the two universities. A Yale" football official said last night that the receipts for the Princeton game exceeded those of last year 25 per cent. At the office of .the Yale Alumni "Weekly last night, where the distri bution of the Yale-Harvard tickets is conducted for Yale students and alumni who want to take in the Har vard contest, it is said that Yale could dispose of 1,000 more tickets than those allowed for the original appli cations from Yale men. It is doubtful if there will be enough to fill the first Yale applica tion for Yale tickets. , - s -Jc'r^jF nr X ^Xjy GOAT LYMPH TABLOIDS i' 2ft '-'."
