When about to make a purchase of any kind, is to go to the shop which keeps the largest and best assortment of the article wanted, from which to choose. This rule applies with especial emphasis to the purchase of a dwelling house. Any one who intends to buy a home in this city should, there- fore, before making any other arrangement, call at my office in the Phoenix Building, where he can easily verify, by an inspection if of the houses I have for sale, my oft-reiterated statement that I have under my exclusive control the Largest List of Dwelling Houses to select from to be found in this town. I have as HOUSES IN EAST MINNEAPOLIS, HOUSES IN NORTH MINNEAPOLIS, HOUSES ON LOWRY HELL, HOUSES ON PARK AND PORTLAND AVENUES, HOUSES IN CENTRAL MINNEAPOLIS, HOUSES ALL OVER MINNEAPOLIS. These include every kind and style, and every size, from a cot- tage to a mansion. The range of price is so great and the terms so liberal that I can suit the means of every one. These facts cause my office, with good reason, to be everywhere known1 Headquarters for Houses These houses are already built, so that you know exactly what you are getting in quality, size, style and arrangement, the exact cost, and without risk of disappointment. They are for sale at much lower prices than you can buy or build a new one for, of equal value. The terms are exceptionally easy. It will cost you nothing to look at the photographs, and I may be able to make some suggestions which will be money in your pocket. SWEEPING OU BIG BUILDINGS PHOENIX BUILDING. The educational committee of the Improvement League is supplement ing the painstaking work of the spe cial committee on sanitary sweeping in the public schools with an investiga tion of the high grade mercantile and manufactory establishments. The members wished to know what busi ness men of known intelligence and energy consider necessary in the way of sweeping for the protection of their wares and business interests, and in their replies they found the following statements: Lumber Exchange CompanyOf all the different known methods we And using a small quantity of damp saw dust the most sanitary. J. H. DornerWe use damp saw dust because we do not wish to raise the dust. i John W. Thomas & Co We believe moistened sawdust and a good brush the most practical and cleanly method for sweeping large areas. GamosslIn sweeping without dampened sawdust the dust from the floor enters the nostrils and lungs. Dampened sawdust holds down the dust and prevents it from entering our stock boxes. E. G. Barnaby & Co.We never dry sweep we have to keep the dust down. Charles H. Cirkler regard dry sweeping as unhjrgienicI. Vrooman'sOur store is swept with a moist broom and dusted with a damp cloth. William Donaldson & Co.We are very much opposed to dry sweeping for stores and never do it. With the aid of damp sawdust the man at the Plymouth is able to sweep in the midst of the buying without dis turbing the patrons. The manager says that dry sweeping would injure the fabrics and garments. This point was emphasized in every answer and if the merchandise must be protected the committee is at a loss to under stand why a like consideration is de nied the school children for the irri tation caused by particles of dry dust to ttte delicate breathing apparatus is a more serious menace to life and health than it is to ribbons or laces. The authoritative denial at the White House that President Roosevelt intends to visit Europe next spring calls to mind the unwritten law which decrees that no president shall leave the United States during his term of office. President Roosevelt, it is said, has had no idea of disregarding the traditional usages of the republic in this regard. There are, of course, abundant reasons why the president should always be on American soil and there is every reason for the regular use of golden grain belt beer.
