The announcement that plans for entertaining the state federa tio convention the fall would be outlined and discussed brought out an unusually large attendance for a meet ing so late in the season. The Commercial club, which assisted the dis trict in securing the convention, will give a large reception in' honor of the delegates on the opening night. The club will also provide a place of meet ing, probably-the^-jFirst Baptist church, and will assist, in arranging excursions and other courtesies., A fih'a musical urogram will be given one evening, and the proposition of having this at the Auditorium in order to show the visitors the new music hall is being considered. All of the little attentions dear to the hearts of visiting women will be provided for with a fine spirit of hospitality. GOVERNOR WILL ATTEND Has Accepted Invitation to the Cadet Ball at University Armory. Governor and Mrs. John A. Johnson accepted an invitation to attend the military ball Monday evening given by the officers of the university cadet battalion. The cadets have also ex tended a general invitation to the of ficers at Fort Snelling. The decorations in the armory, put in place by the Woman's league for the spring carnival tomorrow, will be used, together with flags and other militarv decorations. Uniforms will be worn by the cadets and the officers who attend. The ball will be an exclusive invitation affair. Attorneys representing the creditors of the Coe Commission company are working hard passing on the validity the 1,200 claims. Yesterday only thirty-five cases were passed, but today will see three times that number. At torneys representing only a few claims have been heard and the fight is now on between Charles H. Fowler an4 Q. F. Porter, representing two rival adjust ing companies. Who will be elected trustee is still uncertain. The successful candidate must receive the votes of a majority of the creditors, who must also represent more than half of the total sum in volved.
