RUSH & CO. NEWSBOYS HAVE A LABK Five Hundred Journal Boys Enter tained at the Unique. Five hundred Journal newsboys last night had the right of way at the Unique theater. They came in two recidents, lays, half of them attending the first performance, and half the second. Th vociferous applause that came from the section of the theater reserved for them was testimony that they enjoyed them selves. Th actors seemed to forget theie was anyone else in the house and played for the newsboys. "Farmer" Ed Hazel seemed to deliver his quaint remarks about city life for their express benefit. Irene Mason sang about "Two Little Boys" as if they had sold papers. Erne Selby put in some extra licks in his bag punching act. Jack Brown and Lillian Wright gave five dances instead of four, and George W Willis was hap pier as "Happy Hooligan" than usual, all because the newsboys were there with the hearty applause and big laughs that incited everyone to do his best to please the kids." 420 NICOLLET AV. OF MILLIONAIRE CONTESTANT OP JOHNSON WILL DWELLS UPON THEM. Attorney for Testator Cross-examined as to Peculiar Economies and Habits of the Man Who Cut His Brother Out of His WillObjector's Case to Come Next Week. The eccentricities of the late Albert Johnson will be prominently brought out the fight for his millions, begun in the probate court yesterday after noon. A indicated in the cross i exami natibn by Emanuel Cohen, attorney to Dr. As a Johnson, the objector will dwell upon the foibles of the deceased as proof of his mental incapacity. S7 A Reed, attorney for the tseta tor, testified to the proper drawing up of the disputed will, as did Miss 0 McKinnon and J. M. Dunn, witnesses. When asked by Mr. Cohen if Mr. John son had not been a very eccentric old man, the witness replied, "Not more so than the majority of men." "Did he not wear the same hat for several seasons, and was not this hat such an one as to mark its wearer upon the streets of Minneapolis 1 think he did wear the same hat for several seasons." "Do you know what Mr Johnson's income was?" I do not." "Did you not collect his rents?" I collected practically all the rents from his Minneapolis property." How much did they amount to a year? They approximated $40J000 a year.'' "Do you know where Mr. Johnson got his meals?" "At several restaurants in town." "Was he not most economical in his personal expenditures?'' I think he might have been called ecdnomical.'' Clothing Economies. Did he not wear $12 suits of clothes and wear each one for several seasons and until they were worn out.'' "He was never shabby. I don't know what he paid for his clothes, ex cept? I know that he bought two suits for about $65 each." "That was taken out in rent which he could not collect, was it not?" "No, sir the rent could be col lected/' "You don't mean to say that Mr. Johnson paid $65 for a suit of clothes in cold blood, do you?" Mr. Welch objected to this question and was sustained. "Did he wear these suits?" "Yes, he wore one of them most out." "Did you not often hear the testa tor mumbling to himself?" I never did." "Did he ever go to sleep while talk ing to you?" 7 'No, sir." "Did he not sleep in a little room adioining his offices?" "Yes, sir." Asked as to whether or not he had ever heard Mr. Johnson speak of Miss Dickerson before he drew up the, will making her the sole legatee, Mr. Beed replied: "He once said to me I think more of Edna and her mother than of any other relatives I have.liv- ing.' Miss Dickerson listened closely to the evidence intro'duced^yesterday, but gave no intimation of' being vitally concerned. The objector will present his case next Thursday morning, after which the court will decide whether or not the will may be admitted to probate. A appeal to the district court will then be taken.
