SWEDISH LXTTHEBANi OHTTROH CONVENTION BEGINS MONDAY. Lake Superior District of the Minne sota Conference Will Be Attended by Representatives of Thirty-eight Congregations in Eight Counties Program of Meeting Covers Two Day's Sessions. Special to The Journal. Two Harbors, Minn., Jan. 20.The Lake Supe rior district of the Minnesota conference of the Swedish Lutheran chmch of America will begin here nest Monday evening. In all, thirty-eight congregations will be rep resented. Rev. J. D- Nclsenlus, pastor of the local church, has made all the arrangements for the comfort of the visiting delegates, and ex pects the meeting will be one of interest to all those who are coming, and productive of much good. The meetings will begin at 7:30 o'clock Mon day evening with a communion service at which Rev. C. Solomonson of Duluth will officiate. The sermon will be preached by Rev. C. O. Swenson of Cloquet. On Tuesday morning the conference will open with morning prayer conducted by Rev. J. A. Krantz of Duluth, president of the Minnesota conference. This will be followed by a busi ness meeting lasting till noon. In the afternoon Rev O. J. Oarlstad of Ashland, Wis will read a paper, the subject being "The Characteiistics a True Christian Life Based on Epb. v, 15-21." The reading of this paper will be fol lowed by a general discussion of the subject. In jH- the evening preaching service will be conduct ed by Rev. Messrs. J. Tundson, C. Bkblad of Duluth and P. I. Hanson of Virginia. Wednesday morning will be opened with a prajer by Rev. P. Dahlquist of Soudan, followed by a business session. Iri the afternoon Rev. 3. B. Linear of Superior will read a paper, the subject bein g"What Can W Do and What Shall W Do to Create a More General Interest in the Church 7" This will be followed bv a general discussion. In the evening there will be preach ing services, conducted by Rev. J. B. A. Id strom of Billings Park, Superior, and Dr. Albert Okerstrom of Port Wing, Wis. The counties of Ashland, Bayfield and Doug las in Wisconsin, and St. Louis, Carlton, Itasca, 9 Lake and Cook, In Minnesota, will be repre- $ eented.
