POLICE DISSOLVE BUS PARLIAMENT J:'*r_511 Force Necessary, but No Resist ance and No Great Disorder Manifest. Budapest, Feb. 19.The Hungarian parliament was dissolved this morning "with the use of force. The floor and corridors of the building were cleared by the police. There was no resistance ad no disorder. The members of the j^coalition party declare that the disso lution was unconstitutional and illegal a and that they will hold a meeting Wed nesday in the parliament building un less prevented by troops, in which case the meeting will be held elsewhere. The session opened at- 10 o'clock sharp. The vice president read letters from General Nyiri, the royal commis sioner, and Herr Justh, president of the lower house, and declared, that the royal rescript dissolving parliament, forwarded by General Nyiri, was uncon stitutional and illegal, and energetical- *.*ly protested against it. The vice pres- **i&ent proposed that the house ignore the rescript and return it to the emperor king. The house unanimously accepted the proposal with prolonged cheers. Thereafter the minutes of the meeting were adopted, the deputies were notified to reassemble on Wednesday and then the house adjourned. The royal rescript dissolving parlia ment was left lying unopened on the president's desk and the members left the house, singing the Kossuth hymn. The floor was almost cleared when a captain of Hungarian militia, at the he,ad of five soldiers with fixed bayo nets, and a large number of policemen, who had previously entered by a side door, entered the house. The captain and the soldiers mounted the presi dent's tribune and the policemen oc cupied the floor. The captain then opened and read the rescript amid con stant interruptions from the galleries and some of the deputies who returned to the floor, and all present united singing the Kossuth hymn, with the re suit that not a word of the rescript euld be heard. The police escorted several of the noisy members from the ^flfjor and then slowly cleared the gal 1 Series and oorridors. A large crowd of cheering deputies escorted Francis Kossuth, Count Albert Apponyi and other leaders from the house, which was surrounded by five. squadrons of cavalry, one regiment of infantry, a battalion of militia and a ,/iljiousana policemen. :|AIL 1 a GRASSES INTO M" FREIGHT AT HASTINGS Special to The Journal. Hastings. Minn., Feb. 19.A head-on Collision occurred in the lower yard of tie Milwaukee road at a switch beneath -the Kelinhofer trestle, yesterday morn- T-- in. In one of the express cars a lot of millinery goods and thru express packages were de stroyed. It appears that the freight train was A -just entering from the passing track to the main line when the fast mail *t came around the curve and met it, the semaphore signal, it is said, being dis regarded. Fortunately no one was filled or injured, both crews saving them .selves'by -jumping. A wrecking train in charge of bon duetor C. R. Martin was sent down from Minneapolis to pull the engines apart and clear the debris from the tracks. An extra gang of section men from Red Wing also assisted in the work. Xhe regular passenger trains were run over the Burlington road .m conse quence. The wreck was viewed by hundreds of people during the day. LAND I S A PARADISE Hood River Valley, Ore., Holds Out Great Promises to Settlers. The latest acquisition to Oregon is an organization of men who intend to ex iV-s|loit the wonders of Hood Biver valley. This section has alraady established a reputation for excellence by allowing nothing but first-class frait to be shipped. The Fruit Growers' union in spects every package of fruit before it Z is stamped and sealed, hence fruit from Hood river sells readily at from 25 to ijtv 100 per cent higher than fruit grown in other sections. .Only one-tenth of the tillable land is now under cultivation. Considering *v4he demand for Hood Eiver fruit and the fancy prices paid for both straw Kjrries and apples, there is certainly a grand future in store for this valley. Besides the many advantages for fruit culture, nature has provided a fine cli jr mate, tieautiful scenery, good water, and ideal conditions for perfect home life. To any one living a country where they have severe winters or ex- .V treme hot summers^ Hood river would i5 Appear like a paradise. -i^k The firm of Heilbronner & Co. have ^"establishe agencies in most of the -~large cities, and are well equipped to handle the extensive business that this valley will enjoy during the coming sea son. jjvenmg'f^ Students of St. Olaf's, North field, Minn!, Will Visit Fatherland. Special to The Journal. Northfield, Minn., Feb. 19.-The stu dents' band of St. Olaf college is't make 4 a tour of Norway the coming year. For some time President Kildahl of St. Olaf college has had in mind a visit to Norway for some of the stu dents. They have for years had a brass band numbering sixty persons, now un der the leadership oi Professor Melius Christianson, formerly of Minneapolis. Last summer when the student cho rus from the University of Christiania visited Northfield this brass band re ceived the visitors at the railroad sta tion with the martial national hymn of Norway, and the visitors declared the band equal to any they had ever heard. The idea of a visit to Norway was then first suggested, ancT has now taken tangible form. Preparations aro in progress to arrange all the details of the journey. The band will leave New York on board the Scandinavian-American line steamer Oscar II., on June 21, under the personal supervision of Professor Kildahl, and will give its first concert in Christiania on July 4 if possible. From there the tour will continue by rail to Throndhjem via Eidsvold and Hamar, and at Throndbjem a chartered steamer will take the boys around the coast, visiting Christianssund, Aale sund, Molde, Bergen, Stavanger, Aren dal, Skien, Laurvik, Frederikshald, Frederiksstad, Horten, Drammen and finally again land at Christiania. There is a possibility that Copeonha en also be visited before the re which will be July 26, on board the Hellig.Olav, also of the Scandina vian-American line. Harry Eandall of Minneapolis will attend to the business arrangements of this trip. He wpl leave for Norway March 1 to arrange for the concerts, returning some time in May. Before leaving the St. Olaf musi. oians will be heard in Minneapolis, Chi cago and New York and possiblv one or two other places along the route if arrangements can be made. The itinerary in Norway will be so arranged that a great many scenes of historical interest and natural beauty will be seen. Professor Kildahl will acoomnapy the students thruout^ the visit to the home of their fathers As the boys are all born in the United States, possibly their onlv personal ac quaintance in Norway will be the mem bers of the students' chorus, who spent a few -ours at the St-. Olaf college while at Northfield last summer. O'KEEFE IS ARRESTED PlSrre Merchants" Oharge Ma with Passing Worthless Checks. Special to The Journal. Pierre, S. The Intestines are also lined with mil lions of little suction pumps, that draw the Nutriment from Food, as it passes them in going through. This Nutriment Is then carried into the Blood, and spread over the Body as Brain, Bone and Brawn. But, when the Bowel-Muscles are weak, the Food moves too slowly to stimulate the little Gastric Mouths and there is no flow, or too little flow of Digestive Juice, to change the food into nourishment. Then, the food decays in the Bowels, and in the thirty feet of Intestines. When this Decay begins the little suc tion pumps draw Poison from the decayed Food, into the blood, instead of the Nutri tion it should have drawn. Now, Cascarets.contain the only com bination of drugs that Stimulates these Muscles1 of the Bowels and Intestines just as a Cold Bath, or open-air Exercise," stimulates a Lazy Man.
