300 PLEAD GUILTY
AS 'WRITE CAPPERS'
Jackson, Miss., May 9.Over 300
citizens of Franklin county charged
with being members of an alleged
"white cap" organization have pleaded
guilty before Judge Niles on the charge
of intimidating government homestead*
ers and were each assessed the minimum
fine of $25 and sentence to three
months' imprisonment. The imprison
ment was suspended pending good be
havior.
The litigation has attracted much at*
tention owing to the prominence of the
men involved. Among those indicted
was the sheriff of Franklin county.
