I Dear Friends: I feel that I may address you this way. For several months past I have been telling you of Paramount pictures which have played the lead ing* theaters of Richmond, and it is a source of great satisfaction to me that in no instance have I disappointed you as to their merit and the fine quality of entertainment they offered. I have told you of former Paramount special features, "The Miracle Man," "Male! and Female," "Everywoman," "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," "Why Change Your Wife?" "The Prince Chap," "Civilian Clothes," "Somethingl to Think About," "The Restless Sex," "Humoresque," and all of them, beyond peradven ture of a doubt, have been classics of the silent drama. Next week the Lyric Theater will present a special feature, "BE HOLD! MY WIFE," made from Sir Gilbert Parker's interesting tale of the Canadian Northwest, "The Translation of a Savage." The story is replete with the spirit of the country! where a man is judged by the inherent manhood that is in him, and takes you to the drawing-rooms of London society. Both interior and exterior scenes are most artistic, and the performances of Elliot Dexter, Milton Sills and Mabel Julienne Scott, the leading players, are unusually brilliant. I respectfully com mend to you this latest Paramount special, and promise that it is fully as great a production, and in many respects far greater, than any of the above.
