One of the largest and most delightful events of tho season was tho afternoon affair given Saturdav by Mrs. Howard R, Ppro' in houor of ho A. C. Woman's club, the' ladies of tho jew Jersey Academv and a largo number of invited guest's. Tho rooms throughout tho house wero decorated in while and green, mailing a very pretty offect. During tho afternoon M'iss Mar garet Wilkinson gavo a lifo sketch of Ldgar Allen Poc" and also read from his' Weird Tales." Another delightful feature was the song. "Israfcl," which was beautifully sung by Prof. Gcorgo W. Thatcher. Delicious refreshments were served and dainty Japanese water-color place cards wero laid at small tables for sixtv guests. Mrs. Perry was assisted by Mrs. T. W. Navlor. Miss Katherine Smith, Mrs. R. L. Campbell. Mrs. E. W. Robinson and Miss Elizabeth Smith. The atternoon was a thoroughly enioyable one. The A. C. Woman's club met Monday with Miss Elizabeth Smith at the col lego of Mrs. E. D. Balls and after lis tening to a very interesting paper on "Beuard Shaw," given by Miss Hunts man, the gnosis were delightfully enter tained at a Washincton birthday dinner party, given by Mrs. Ball and Miss Smith at tho college. The long table was beautiful with tho national colors. American beauties, flags and red and white candles. Dainty hand-painted place cards in tho same colors were laid for twenty-fivo guests. It being the seventh anniversary of tho club appro priate addresses were made by Mrs. J. A. Widtsoe, Mrs. Georgo W. Thatcher and Mrs. Willard Lang ton and Miss Huntsman. Another protty dinner' party of tho week was given Tuesday by the Club circle at the B. Y. eollego in honor of Mrs. Ruth M. Bell. The table was beau tifully decorated in keeping with tho Washington idea and the place cards were dainty pen sketches of George Washington. A large number of guests wero present. Miss Virgina Batoson entertained a number of her friends at a very pretty party party Mondaj afternoon. Tho party was a candy pull and tho guests were Florence and Mary Carlisle, Adlcnc Barber, Oreta Smith, Claire Martincau. Addie Milton, Eva Davis, Lconia Smith, Kato Squires, Gladys Christensen. Mablo Spaudie, Leora Thatcher, Margaret Nebckcr and Mamie Smith. Miss Ruby Nobeher was hostess at a luncheon Thursday afternoon at tho A. C. colleee., complimentary to tho student life staff. Tho table was prettily dec orated with flowers and the guests wero chaperoned by Mrs. George Torgeson. Mrs. Willard Langton ontertaincd at a pretty children's party at her home Wednesday afternoon iu honor of her son. Gibbs, eighth birthday. Games were enjoyed and dainty refreshments were served. Mrs. D. H. Thomas was hostess also Wednesday afternoon at a largo birth day partv'iu honor of her son, Freddie. Prof. Larson was host at an informal dinner party at tho Lincoln Thursday evoning in honor of Mr. Rowdon and Miss Terry. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Hanson havo returned to the city after a few days spent in Logan. Mrs. D. C. Budge returned home Wed nesday from a pleasant week spent in oise. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Taylor spent the early part of the week, tho guests of Mr. aud Mrs. Daniels. The marriage of Miss Duella Alvord and Dr. T. B. Budgo took place Wed nesday iu tho Logan temple aud on Thurs'daj' afternoon they left for Los Angeles, where they will spend several weeks. Dr. aud Mrs. Budge will roturu to Logan where they will be at homo to their many friends on North Main street. Mr. George Spillinan of Pocatello is visiting with Logan relatives and friends. Mr. J. Ed. Hyde of Ogden spent tho week visiting in Logan.
