BOYAli FAIL TO SHOW Only one mark, was shattered last night In The Washington Herald's duckpln tournament, now being1 rolled on the Royal Alleys, and that came in the sin gles, when Harley rolled 313 for third place. Harley rolled consistently all the way through, getting 1C0, 1T7, and 116 for the above total. The Royals and the Laborites hooked tip. but no records -were broken, as the District Leaguers could not hit the pins. The tournament will run another week, and by that time the best duckpln spill ers In the District will have rolled for the medals offered by The Herald. Notwithstanding the fact that twenty seven pin knights rolled in the tourney last night. Harley was the only one to come within striking distance of the leaders. Harley relied in hard luck, the eterling pin shooter having bad breaks almost every box. Only the best of single-pin shooting put him in the race. To-night some good scores are booked to be made, as the star pin shooters of the District are scheduled to roll, and they all say that they are bound to beat the marks now resting easy. Wrestlers came into their own last night at the Arcade when the manage ment staged three bouts before one of tb largest crowds that has witnessed wrestling in Washington in a' long time. Dr. Roller, one of the world's most scien tific wrestlers, appeared in a match with Shad Link, champion heavy-weight of Maryland, while the art that was orig inated in Japan JIu Jltsi. was illustrated to the spectators by cne of the Oriental specialists and an opponent from Eng land. After all of the stars had appeared, Americus, the world's champion light heavy-weight, tackled "Yankee" Rogers, a talented mat artist from the North. William Bingham, the English JIu Jltsu champion, defeated Hara Mykia. of Japan, after ten minutes and thirty seconds of the hardest kind cf work. Dr. Roller and Shad Link were the next to perform. Shad was on the de fensive most of the time, but clearly showed the crowd that he knew the game from the offensive. Dr. Roller, like a streak of greased lightning, gained many holds upon Link which the ordi nary wrestler would have succumbed to, but the heavy Baltlmorean managed to squirm out of them, only to be caught and thrown by Roller with the reversed leg-nelson after thirty-four minutes and thirty-one seconds. Both wrestlers came back strong and freoh Roller, with a crotch and hair nelson, defeated Link la eleven minutes and thirty seconds. Americus, the llgbt-heavy-welght of the world, was next on the programme with a bout against "Yankee Rogers, gaining the first fall In twenty-five min utes and ten seconds with a crotch and halt-nelson, and the second in ten min utes and thirty-five secondy with the same hold.
