By Saturday all the Christmas mail
will be entirely cleaned up. authori
ties of the city postofllce department
stated yesterday.
At present the Christmas packages
are arriving in half the volume of the
pre-Chriatmas receipts. An inventory
of distributions showed 1,500.000 parcel
post packages, too large for delivery
by letter carriers, were cared for by
th* motor truck service.
The largest volume of business ever
experienced in the presnt postoffice
department was transacted this holi
day season. More than 1.500.000 pack
ages were distributed.
