fourth section ot the act of the 2tnh of February,
1855, ?' to provide for ihe payment of such creditors
of the late republic of Texas as are comprehended
in the act of Congress of September 'Jib, 1850," no
tice, by public advertisement, was duly given for
the space of ninety day.-, by the Secretary of the
Trea-<uiy, of the time at which payment of the
amount appropria:ed by the fifth section ol s-atd act
would be made,pro rata, on any b rid. certificate,
or evidence of d?bt of sai I Sta e. wliicu should be
presented at the Treasury Department thirty days
