Mrs. Foftbb, wife of Major General J. G.
Foster, died in New York yesterday morning
Gen. Foster, recently on duty in Boston, was
ordered to California, and was on hie way with
his wife to Baltimore, where she was to remain
during his absence with her relatives. Shortly
after reaching the Antor House. New York, she

Mrs. Foster was the daagfcter of Colonel

tinction in the Union army daring the war, left
his sonthern home some weeks ago to attend the
reunion of the army of the Potomac, and the
annual meeting of the Grand Army of the Ke
Cublic at Boston. There he met with many of
is former comrades in arms, and the revival of

naturally enough to rather hilarious oonvtvality,
General Mundee prolonged his stay in the
North longer than he had intended. Coming to
tbis city on bis way to Florida, where he owned
a large plantation, Geneial Mundee spent some
days in company with friends and army ac

brought bv some loafers who freauented the
