Article * I.
Any person in the United States desiring to remit
to the I'nited Kingdom a aum of money within the
limits prescribed by Article I, ma) pay it int > any
p *t office in the United States designated fur such
purpose from time to time, by the Postmaster Gen
eral of that county. Such person shall, at the same
time, (tire the nam# aud address of the person to
wh in the amount is to be paid in th* Unit*d King
dom. and his own name and a.ldress. Any person in
the United Kingdom desiring to remit to th s ?. nited
States a sum of money within the sani" limits, may
ray it into any uionev-jrdw office of the I nited
Kingdom, giving, at th# same tiro*, the nam? aud
exact address of the person to whom the amount U
to be raid in the United States, and his own name
and addr-ss. The receiving postmaster in either
country shall, in accordance with the rules estab
lished by his postal administration, notify every
such payment to the d<-?pt|?-hlng exchange office.
The postmaster of New York, upon receipt of every
notification of that kind, shall make oat and forward
to th. payee in the Uulted Kingdom a money order,
Syable in sterling at the post office in that country,
signaled by the remitter of the order. It bein? un
derstood that the money orders so remitted shall be
seut.hi the first Instance, to the controller or the
m<>ney order office in Loudon, aud shall not be sub
ject to postage

By every mail, the exchanc office of each country
shall send to the exchange office of the other coun
try a eertifl-d list of sums payable in that country,
and received since the despatch of the previous list.
A- soon as any such list shall have reached the New
York office, and been verified, this office shall m.ike
i-nt inland money orders in favor of the payees, for
tb>- amount epecifl.d in the list, and shall promptly
f. rward them to the payee* or to the pa\ log office,
in conformity with the regulations existing in the
United State* for thr W?> :n> nt of m >ney orders. The
Ibt forward?-d to the Unitrtl Kingdom shall bo ac
orn pan ied by the relative 1 tters of advice of the
orders eutend therein, to ether wjth the orders

comparison with the list, the advices shall be de*
