The t'se of Organs In Church Worship.
At Springfield. Oliio. ve.terclay. the United
Presbrtcriau general assembly again took ac
tion ou tlie Huliject of the use of the organ and
other mimical instrument, in church worship.
The complaint on that subject is aaid to come
from representatives of about 6.0U0 out of the
125.000 members of the church. The minority
represent that tht-y cannot, in good conscience,
permit the use of the orgau in church worahip.
The judiciary committee to whom the com
plaint was referred brought in a report, which
was adopted. It is. in effect, that it is inexpe
dient to change the rule adopted by the gen
eral assembly two years ago. which is that the
use or exclusion of orgaus shall not be a bar to
membership, but that each congregation shall
determine it* own course in this regard. No
disruption is apprehended from this action.
