13th Annual September Furniture Sale
SEPT.
FURNITURE
Every September's Sale has a record behind it inspiring greater efforts to excel. Each year of the thir
teen we have succeeded in surpassing in value giving and selling the past season's sale. This sale is surpass
ing all. We've got more to offer you?bigger varieties?more impressive values. , In more cases than not
you can save half the cost of an article. Takes good merchandising to make such a thing possible, and we've
merchandised right. Whole factory stocks have been bought up regardless of quantity and those manufacturers
who made up big stocks in anticipation of duplicate orders that didn't come have contributed enormously to
the success of this sale.
Carloads of goods are arriving right along. Watch the papers.

DRAINER FOR WASHBOILERS.
Handy Attachment to Prevent Water
Dripping on Floor.
A simple device that gi?eat!y adds to the
usefulness of the washboller Is a recent
patent of an Oregon man. As shown In the
illustration. It consists of a drainer that Is
attached to the top of the washboller. The
drainer Is formed of a series of parallel
rods, which rest on the top of the wash
boiler. Each rod terminates Into a hook
designed to engage the beaded rim of the
boiler. Abound the edges of the rod Is a
projecting ledge, to prevent the water drip
ping on the floor. After wringing out the
clothes they are conveniently placed on the
drainer, the water dripping back Into the
boiler. The device is readily removed when I
desired.
JERSEY PRIMARIES TUESDAY
BOTH PARTIES TO ELECT CON
VENTION DELEGATES.
Republican Contest Between Fort and
Sommer Will Be a Lively
.Contest.
TRENTON, N. J.. September ft?Politic*.
Interest In New Jersey Is centered upon
tho party primaries which will be hold
throughout the state tomorrow to nomi
nate candidates for local offices and elect
the delegates to state, county and other
conventions. The state conventions of both
parties will be held In this city next week
and the results of the primaries Will have
an Important bearing on, If they do not ac- 1
tually determine, who shall be the party
nominees for governor.
As matters now stand. Justice J. Franklin
Fort of the supreme court and SherlfT Frank
H. Summer of Essex county are the only
avowed candidates for the republican nomi
nation. Justice Fort has the backing of
most of the regular organization In his own
county, of ..many of the leaders in Hud
son county and of a considerable following
In other sections of tho state. Me Is said
also to be regarded with favor by power
ful commercial Interests. His opponent*
say that changed conditions In the state
mean that these latter elements of strength
threaten his candidacy; that the popular
feeling against the domination of political
parties by financial Institutions will make
Itself feit In the state convention.
Followers of New Idea.
Opposed to Justice Fort In his candidacy
for the nomination are. first, the followers
of the New Idea movement In politics which
Is represented by the candidacy of SherlfT
Sommer. The hardest battle between these
two factions will bo fought at tomorrow's
primaries in Essex county.?which Is the
home of both the candidates The result
In that county will probably furnish the
keynote of the entire situation. Present
Indications point to a fairly equal division
of the Essex delegates with the probable
selection of some delegations unpledged to
any particular candidate. If tho light In
Essex proves as close anil as hitter as
most people believe It will It would not be
surprising If the republican nomination
should go to another county entirely.
