master of the steamer Angler, lias gone
to Havre do Grace, Md., and Is In com
mand of the Washington tug Martha
Dailman. which Is doing duty as tender
to dredging machines working in the
Susquehanna river.
Capt. Frank Taylor, of A. J. Taylor &
Bro.. who has been with the tug M. M.
Davis, which is working in the vicinity
of Xorfo k, has returned to this city for
a visit to his family.
Aubrey L. Clarke, of L>. A. Clarke &
Son. has returned from a business trip to
Richmond and southern Virginia, and
was at his office on the 10th street wharf
this morning.
T. P. S mmone of Charles county. Mary
land. was a visitor to the lumber and
wood handling firms on the river front
yesterday.
Franklin Taylor, son of CapL Frank
Taylor, of A. J. Taylor & Bro., tugboat
owners of this city, while playing foot ball
a day or two ago. was caught in a
scrimmage an the field and had three rfb.s
broken. He was taken to the Casualty
Hospital for first aid to the injured, and
from there was sent to his home at t?13
G street. The foot ball season will b?
over before the young man will be in con*
dition to play again.

Small Fire Quickly Extinguished.
A small fire, supposed to have beta
started by a spark from a nearby ea?r
mill, was yesterday discovered on the
roof of a shed at the wood wharf of
Ia A. Clarke & Son, foot of 10th street
southeast. Several buckets of water
were required to extinguish It. No
alarm was sounded and the damage done
was trifling.
