EXPORTS IN AUTOS JUMP DURING PAST FISCAL YEAR Foreign Countries Take More Than S74,000,000 Worth?Increase Anticipated Present Year. Foreign countries took more than $74.000,000 worth of American automobiles and parts thereof in the past fiscal year, the bureau of foreign and domestic commerce announced today. This was an increase over the previous year of more than $36,000,000. Prospects are that the exports in the calendar year will exceed $120,000,000. European countries are the largest purchasers of American motor trucks. Increased sales are being made, however, to countries far removed from the war zone. The export trade for the year is made up as follows: Commercial automobiles, $39,140,682; passenger automobiles, $21,113,953; automobile tires, $4,963,270; automobile engines, $1,485,334, and automobile parts, $7,853,183. Exports to England aggregated more than $24,000,000; France, $14,248,000, and Russia more than $9,000,000. Total exports to Alaska were $91,381; Hawaii, $1,514,585, and Porto Rico, $775,879.
