On? man was killed, two seriously injured and a number of passengers severely shaken up in a head-on col lision between two trains on the Maryland and Pennsylvania railroad at Woodbrook, about Ave miles from here, about 6 o'clock this evening. Peyton was pinned under the en gine by a leg and it was impossible to extricate him. Dr. ,T. M. T. Finney of Johns Hopkins Hospital, who I served as a colonel overseas during the war, was playing golf in the I vicinity and went to the scene of the accident. Seeing the plight of I Peyton, and realizing that the man | would bleed to death, he amputated the leg. using an ordinary carpenter's saw, which was brought from a farm house nearby, and a penknife. The accident, which occurred on a single track brauch, is said to have been due to misunderstand ng of signals by the dead engineer. Buyers who can qualify will receive a home costing $4,000 on payments of $33 monthly. The payments also are to Include Are, accident, health and life insurance. Only workingmen receiving small wages and with large families will be considered as applicants. The corporation has acquired a mile square tract and is planning 2,000 more houses.
