Mme. de Mathieu, wife of the ambassador of Chile, will act as hostess for the bachelor host. This dinner is in the nature of a farewell as the Secretary will leave Washington around the 20th of the month for South America, where he will make visits of statu to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. The ambassador of Great Britain and Uady Geddes will be the honor guests at a dinner at which the Secretary of the Treasury and Mrs. Houston will be hosts Wednesday evening. The Secretary is still at Hot Springs. Va.. where he went last Friday, accompanied by Mr. Edward G. Howry and Mr. John C. Brcckenridge of New | York.
