The parliamentary law class of the Twentieth Century Club will enter tain at a picnic for its members Fri day on the lawn of the Chevy Chase Seminary. ' Mrs. Catherine Barker of White Plains, N. Y., is the house guest of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William C. Dennis, on West Un derwood street. The Chevy Chase Chapter of the Y. W. C. A. met Tuesday at the home of Mrs. John Imirie on West Bradley lane. Miss Anne Leathers, the re ligious secretary of the Y. W. C. A., gave an address. Tea was served at the close of the meeting. West Virginia Society Holds Annual Election The West Virginians In the District of Columbia, about 600 in all, met Wednesday night, elected officers, amended their by-laws, danced and served refreshments. The president, Mr. L. N. Morgan, who has served the society in that capacity for two successful years, presided. Officers elected, who will assume charge at the October meeting, were: President, Mr. Charles M. Shinn; first vice president, Mr. Todd C. Sharp: sec ond vice president, Mr. P. M. Appell; third vice president, Mr. W. C. Hef ner; fourth vice president, Mrs. J. 8. Thompson; fifth vice president. Mr. Shirley D. Mayers: sixth vice presi dent, Mr. A. F. Ooshorn; secretary, Mr. John L. Bateman: assistant sec retary. Mrs. H. L. Harriss; financial secretary. Miss Nellie V. Hollis; treas urer. Mr. J. William DeGrange, and historian, Mrs. D. W. Gall. The committees will be appointed before the next meeting, which is the first Wednesday night in October. In the Intervening period the present of ficers will officiate on any occasion that may arise calling for official action. The Minister of Norway and Mme. Bryn will entertain at dinner tomor row evening, their guests having been asked to meet the Secretary of State and Mrs. Kellogg, who will be unable to attend the dinner as they are in St.. Paul, where they went for the funeral I services for the late Mr. Cordenio A. Severance, former law partner of the Secretary. The Minister and Mme. Bryn and their daughters will close their house here in June and will occupy a cottage at Stony Man Camp. Skyland, Va. The Minister of Finland, Mr. As from, is traveling in the Far. West and will spend the week end in San Fran cisco, where he arrived yesterday by motor from Los Angeles. He will sail June 12 for Europe for the Summer. The Minister of the Netherlands, Jonkheer de Graeff, will leave Wash ington at the end of the week for Havana, where he will attend the in auguration of President Machado. Jonkheer de Graeff is also Minister of the Netherlands to Cuba and will re turn in a fortnight. The Minister of Switzerland and Mme. Peter left Washington last night for visits in Philadelphia and New York and will return at the end of ’the week. The Minister will go to Cuba for the inauguration of President Machado. The Minister of the Dominican Re public and Senora de Ariza returned yesterday to their apartment, at Wardman Park Hotel from a short stay in New York. The Minister will go to Richmond tomorrow and will be joined thure Wednesday by Senora de Ariza. The Minister of Haiti and Mme. Price will leave early in June for a visit to their home in Haiti and will spend a month there. The new secretary. M. Raoul Lizaire, will be charge de’affaires dur ing the absence of the Minister. The new Minister of Austria and Mme. Prochnik will entertain at luncheon, today in compliment to the delegate from Austria to the quin quennial conference of the Interna tional Council of Women. The counselor of the British em bassy and Mrs. Henry Getty Chilton will entertain a distinguished com pany at dinner Friday evening in honor of the Ambassador of Italy, Signor di Martino, and the Ambassa dor of Germany and Baroness von Maltzan. Mme. Pelenyi, wife of the coun selor of the Hungarian legation, will return next week from Cleveland, where she is visiting her brother-in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Mather, who also are entertaining Mr. R. A. Harmon, father of Mme. Pelenyi and Mrs. Mather. The military attache of the Italian embassy and Marchesa di Bernezzo will return to their apartment, at Stoneleigh Court, tomorrow from Philadelphia, where they are spend ing the week end. The retiring secretary of the Swiss legation, Dr. Ernest Brenner, will sail from New York aboard the Aquitania Wednesday. May 20, and will have a short vacation in his Swiss home be fore being assigned to another post. The first secretary of the legation of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, Dr. Marinovitch, was host at dinner last evening at Wardman Park Hotel In honor of Mr. and Mrs. Lazaravitch, who are making a short stay in Wash ington. Mr. Lazaravitch is chief of the Serbian police, and is the guest of the International Council of Police at its conferences in New York. Later she completed her education at the Ktate Library School, Albany, N. Y’„ and since her graduation has been a librarian at the Central Library. Evansville. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Mr. Alien, who is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati in civil engineering, is a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
