inspector, showed an increase of $162,-
050 this week. Forty-six permits for
construction or alterations valued at
51,000 or more made a total of $1,000,-
"50 for this week. The total made by

Hawaiian Tonnage Grows.
HONOLULU, July 18 (/P)._The ex
tensive growth of ocean commerce in
the Pacific is indicated In the fact that
gross tonnage entering Honolulu in
the year ending June 30 last shows an
increase of 500,000 tons.
The total tonnage for the year was
5,942,080 in 729 ships, as compared
with 700 steamers of 5,444,757 tons in
the year ending June 30, 1924.
