Correspondence of the Associated Press. NAPLES, Aug. 4.—A striking ex ample of the mummification of a hu man body by natural processes has been discovered at Vatolla, in the province of Salerno, with the exhuma tion of the body, of a local resident, Roßa Scarpa, who died in 1912. The body was found to be in a perfect state of preservation; even her clothes were in a sort of petrified condition, but retained their original colors. ' Thinking the mummification pro cess might have been due to peculiar chemical qualities of the soli, the au thorities ordered the opening of an adjacent grave, but the corpse in the latter grave had completely’ decom posed. This, therefore, led to the be lief among devout natives that a miracle had been wrought. RUMANIA FEELS H. C. L. Correspondence of the Associated Pres* BUCHAREST. Aug. 3.—There is a conspicuous rise in the co6t of living in Rumania as compared with last year. The Argus points out that food has risen 18 points over the level of August last year, nearly 56 points, and such articles as soap, firewood, paper, petroleum. 31 points. The average of prices in 1925, the Argus points out, is about 46 per cent higher than a year ago. sion which seems to exist,” he added. "We hope to have construction started as quickly as possible. October 1 has been mentioned, but that is contingent upon the club’s undertaking to lease the building. Serious consideration now is being given to the methods which the chib most effectively can use to bring that about, and complete announcements will be made very soon.” -1 AVjjJliJIU' pIAXv, WAbfllWulUJN, U» L>., bAIUxtUAx, AUuUBI Za f liJ&D* BALTIMORE REALTY IS STILL AT PEAK No Decrease Noted in Values .Reached From 1919 to 1923, Report Shows.
