The Senate adopted a resolution yesterday requesting President Cool idge to transmit the report of the Secretaries of State. Commerce and Labor concerning new immigrant quotas based on national origins. Lefever, 55, a mechanic, with the “phanton stabber,” who in the past two years had attacked 17 women, another victim was added to the list last night. Returning to her home after post ing a letter. Miss Charlotte Mosseau, IS. was seized by a man and received three wounds In the face either from a sharp infttrument or from the man’s hand. She fainted, but upon recovery was able to describe her assailant. The last appearance of the "stab her" was two months ago, when he In flicted a deep wound upon Miss Ca mella Charapalla, 19. ns she was leav ing a church, in which the map had apparently also been paying his devo tions. Three girls in one night were his victims on August 13. and prior to that time his activities had been inter mittent over a long period. Lefever was arrested two days ago when he struck Miss Katherine L. Fitzpatrick, principal of a school, with his fist after muttering some thing about "women blocking the side walks." The driver of a hootleg car contain ing 14 cases of liquor had a spectaeiN lar and narrow escape from death yes terday afternoon in nearby Mary land, when, driving at high speed, he smashed into a telephone pole and was hurled out of his machine over a fence into a wood. The machine was wrecked. Prohibition agents from the Wash ington office passed the car near Burchs Hill. Returning to halt the oar, they came upon the wreck at the bottom of a hill where the road took a sharp turn. The driver evidently had been going so fast he failed to make tiie turn.
