Questions ranging from “Where fihould a man draw the line on Sun day between relaxation, amusements and sports?” to “What is the difTor once in betting on the world serfes and shooting craps at Monte Carlo?' are included in a list of topics for dis cussion by young men at a series of Wednesday evening forum dinners at y m. C. A. headquarters, 173 G G Street. Ten other questions have been pre pared for the weekly discussions, at Which William Knowles Cooper, gen eral secretary of the Y. M. C. A., will preside. Two of the forums already have been held and a large attend ance marked each dinner. Questions discussed were, “Are we justified in criticizing conceptions of God held by non-Christian peoples?” and “Is mo nogamy of divine or of human origin?” Other topics to be considered are: “Is America losing the hapit of prayer.' •Van England maintain her policy of free trade today?” “Is capital ism conducive to the welfare of the ]*oople of the United States?” “What is the distinctive difference between Christianity and other religions?” “Ought a member of a church to take •vacations’ when the pastor is away and the church life is sluggish-vaca tion’ meaning staying away when he is physically able to attend?" “Is not the tendency to do things by proxy one of the serious tendencies of our age?” “How can a man inspire a spirit of reverence in boys of junior high school age ns to church and its auxiliaries?" "Isn’t the lazy spirit among many church members (the spirit of church attendance if he feels like it and the unwillingness to under take church responsibilities in active work) one of the chief difficulties of the modern church? Is same thing true in other groups—fraternities, secret societies, etc.?” Officers of the forum group are: Charles D. Allen, chairman; George K. Observance of the golden jubilee of the Columbia Association of Baptist Churches will take place in connec tion with the annual meeting which opens Monday evening at Calvary Bap tist Church, Eighth and H streets, for a session extending through Thursday night. Rev. J. W. Many, the modera tor, will preside. Rev. W. P. Hubbard, .pastor of the Fountain Memorial Baptist Church, will deliver the annual sermon Mon day night at 7:30 o’clock The business session will convene Tuesday at 9:45 a.m., at which time officers will be elected. A young people’s rally will be held Thursday evening, with a business session during the day. _ « • DR. SHREVE TO RETURN. Former Washington Pastor Will » Conduct Gospel Crusade. After an absence of four years in evangelistic w'ork. Rev. Charles A. Shreve, former YVashington pastor, will return to the National Capital for a gospel crusade on November 27, to continue for three at the Gospel Tabernacle, North Capitol and K streets. The campaign will open with an all day dedication service, when Dr. Shreve will preach the dedicatory sermon at 11 a.m. ANNIVERSARY TO CLOSE. Calvary Church to End Celebration Tomorrow. The sermon tomorrow night at 8 o’clock by Rev.- Dr. James Shea Montgomery, former minister of Cal vary Church, will bring to a close the celebration of the twenty-fifth an niversary of that church. The young people of Luther Place Memorial Church, Fourteenth and N streets, rendered a musical and liter ary program last Tuesday evening.
