The Girl Scout Bugle, the new local Girl Scout newspaper, made its initial bow last Tuesday morning at the monthly meeting of the Gill Scout Council. Miss Ireland of the musical depart ment of the Y. W. C. A., visited Troop 57 at the Wheatley School Thursday afternoon to start with the troop ..op tain, Mrs. Lindsay Russell, community singing. The Girl Scouts of Troop 30, Mac farland Junior High School, opened their last session by saluting the fiag and giving the Scout promise and laws. They started the Swedish drill, taught by a teacher, and did various stunts, such as the pyramids and the fan. Later they played dodge ball. Every Saturday morning the Scouts go to the Colony Theater and open it by singing songs and giving the salute to the fiag on the stage. On Fridav at 3:15 p.m. the Semper Fidelia Club of McKinley High School will have a mock initiation lot new members in tfio Girl P. serve Club rooms. The officers of the chib will take charge of the meeting. PAUL.—Just out of jail, where he was looked up with his own pris oner, a Federal dry agent is cursing the suspicious nature of mankind, and between outbursts he is hiding from the ribald jests of his eollegues. Two dry agents came to the Ramsey County jail, bearing with them John j Ross. One of the dry agents left the other agent, William Robbins, and Ross at the door of the jail. Robbins took the prisoner in and said. “Look | him tip.” The jailer looked the pair | over and said, “Well. I’ll l>e derned, i but I don’t know you.” | Robbins searched for his rredebtials, j but they were missing. So the jailer : also put Robbins in.
