Denver, Colorado, was the only other contestant for the 1928 convention, hut Washington won by a margin of four votes. There are more than 30 State Grange organizations or "chapters.” The National Grange is the largest farmers’ organization in the world, with nearly a million active members, about ten thousand of whom are ex pected to attend the convention. As the 1928 meeting \iill come just after the next presidential election and be fore Congress convenes, it is expected its deliberations will have considerable economic and political importance. A. C. Loomis is master ot the Po tomac Grange and Fred C. Brenck man is the Washington representa tive of the National organization. Among the Washington members attending the Cleveland session t\ere: Mr. and Mrs. Russell F. Bower, Mr. and Mrs. Pyke Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Fred O. Brenckman, S. S. McCloskey, Mark Turner and O. M.
