Septem ber 6. — The finding of |he bodies of John Hornby. Canadian explorer, and his two companions, missing in the North woods for two years, was describ ed today in a letter from Harold Wil son of his father, A. E. Wilson, of In dian Head. •' The younger Wilson, leader of a party of explorers, found the three bod ies in a rude shelter on the shore of the Inn River on a route leading from Great Slave Lake to the Hudson Bay. He said the condition of the bodies made it impossible to determine the cause of death. The party which Wilson headed ar rived safely at Ranekin Inlet a few ciavs ago. where the letter was written. The finding of Hornby’s body was an nounced August 14 by the Royal North west. Mounted Police, but the- identifi cation was questioned by A. J. Bell of Saskatoon, a friend of Hornby's. He said he had talked to the noted ex plorer over the telephone in Vancouver last Fall and that Hornby told him he was farming on Lulu Island, near Van couver. A search of the island, how ever. failed to reveal any one who had known Hornby or had seen him there. He was not listed in any directories of the island or in the land records as a larm owner.
