Marshall, who was head of the construction division of the Quarter master Department of the Army during 1 the war and supervised the construction of the mammoth Army cantonments, is now president of the Associated Gen eral Contractors of America. Speaking of the future of the city, Oen. Marshall, who once made his home here before business interests called him 1 to Chicago, declared that the movement [ of business is unmistakably toward the i northwest. As an Illustration, he j pointed to the development of Connecti cut avenue as a business street and Ihe , more rapid development of K street ! which In Ave years has been trans formed from a quiet residential street Into a throbbing business thoroughfare.
