. LINESMAN KILLED
IN FALL OFF POLE
Heat Is Blamed for Fatal
Plunge of 12 Feet While
at Work.
Believed to hive been overcome by
heat while working on in electric light
pole at Twenty-second and Monroe
streets northeaat ahortly liter noon to*
day, James C. Hill, 38-year-old lineman
of the Potomac Electric Power Co. waa
injured fatally when he fell 13 feet to
the ground. The man waa taken to
Emergency Hoapital, but efforts to re
vive him proved futile.
According to fellow workmen. HUI,
who had been employed as a linesman
with the company for more than three
years, waa installing service wires for
use In the residential section when he
suddenly topple<V over and crashed to
the ground. He was picked up from
the street and placed on the lawn of
a house nearby where Dr. Charles J.
Bowne of 2001 Rhode Island avenue
northeast pronounced him dead before
the arrival of the Emergency Hospital
ambulance and the lire rescue squad.
Hill lived at 1012 Twelfth street
northeaat with his wife and 8-year-old
daughter.
CAMP QUARANTINED.
Rendezvous for Boys and Girls De
velops 20 Cases of Illness.
HONESDALE. Pa.. August 14
Camp Tabor, a rendezvous for boys and
girls at Rock Lake. Wayne County, was
placed under quarantine by health of
ficials last night after physicians had
been called to investigate the Illness of
20 campers. Plrst reports that a num
ber of persons were ill with Infantile
paralysis were denied.
Two patients. Mrs. Joyce Warner and
Mrs. Henrietta Joseph, both of Cleve
land, Ohio, were taken to Bt. Joseph
Hospital In Carbondale, 20 miles from
the camp.
According to Information here there
are about 400 persons at Camp Tabor,
most of them from Mlddlewestem
States.
