RIGHT ASSERTED TO PERSIAN THRONE Prince Mohammed Hassah Mirza, Brother of Deposed Shah, Publishes Claim. J*v thr Associated Press. PARIS. July 21.—Prince Mohammed Hn.ssan Mirza. brother of the late-de po.seo Shah Ahmed of Persia, yesterday published a declaration asserting his right to occupy the throne of Persia and wear the hereditary "crown of Darius.” '"n» nrince was several times regent cf Persia and exercised power until n c thrown bv the present Shah, Riza Khan Pahlevi. Then he came to Pans to rejoin his brother, who had long lived here. Shah Ahmed. Kafar of Persia, deposed in October, 1925, "in the name of the rational welfare.” by the Persian Mej liss. or Parliament, died in Paris on February 27 at the early age of 32 and W'as reputed to be one oi the richest men in the world. On December 13, 1925, Riza Khan Pahlevi was elected Shah by the Con sistuent Assembly and crowned on April 25. 192fi. The Kajar. dynasty, which Prince Mo hammed is attempting to perpetuate, had ruled Persia sinre 1779. Ahmed succeeded to the throne in 1909 at the *gp of 11. He spent much time away from his country on pleasure trips to Europe. w hich caused widespread dis- ( satisfaction at home. His power was gradually decreased tfntil. in 1923, he practically ceased to occupy the throne and moved from the imperial palace to a home outside Te heran. Shortly afterward he departed for Paris, never to return. STUDENT FLYER FOUND DEAD IN HOTEL ROOM Bruised Body of Cincinnati Man Discovered in San Francisco After Party. SAN FRANCISCO. July 21.—The bruised body of William Walsh, be lieved to be a student aviator from Cincinnati, Ohio, was found yesterday In his room in a fashionable Nob Hiil hotel. Police after a preliminary investiga tion decided the body injuries, includ ing a broken nose, were the result of repeated falls in the room after a drinking party. Walsh was last seen alive about 10 p. m. Saturday night after departing friends reported to the hotel manage ment some one "ought to look after him." A maid discovered the body. Walsh had been a student of aviation In Oakland Canceled checks showed he had an account in a Cincinnati bank. Clippings and letters also were found concerning an European tour being made by Mrs. F. J., July 21 {fP). — 1 Timothy Healy, 67, former international president of the Brotherhood of Sta tionary Firemen and Oilers and promi nent labor leader, died here yesterday. Mr. Healy was born in Ireland and after coming to the United States he ! became a stationary and marine fire man. So active was he in labor dis- I cusstons that he soon rose to the head of his union, which position he held j for more than 24 years. July 21. ; —A truck arch bar falling beneath a car was blamed today by Canadian National Railway officials for the wreck of a circus train in which four i were killed and 20 were injured yes ter- I day. The derailed train was a special ; carrying the A1 G. Barnes Circus from Newcastle to Charlottetown. The train I consisted of 29 cars and the nine de railed cars, four passenger and five flat cars, were behind the seventeenth from the engine. Three men on one of the derailed flat cars were killed outright. Two were employed as propmen while the third was believed to be trespasser. A waiter died soon after the wreck. STREAMS TAKE TWO LIVES Heavy Kains Swell Water Courses to Flood Stage in Colorado. CORTEZ. Colo.. July 21 UP.— Streams j swollen to flood stage took the lives of two persons near here yesterday. Carlos Humphrey, 30, was swept oft a flume into an arroya 25 feet below as he opened a floodgate. Heavy rains on the Mesa Verde transformed the ordi narily quiet stream into a torrent. Mrs. Oliver Patterson, Shiprock, N. Mex.. was drowmed after the automo bile in which she was riding plunged 30 feet through a bridge over Shumway Wash, which was weakened by high water. Motions for a stay of execution and a writ of habeas corpus also were re fused. Wisconsin has about 8,671,000 acres of pasture land.
