State Troopers Join in Search for
Kan Accused of Attacking
Young Girl Camper.

STONY POINT. N. Y.. August 20
Aided by bloodhounds. New York and
New Jersey State troopers were beating
the bush in Bear Mountain and Harri
man Parks yesterday in an intensive
search for a man accused of attacking
a 15-year-old girl camper.
The troopers were assisted by the

The accused man, William Horrner.
24, an assistant chef at a boys’ camp
in Harriman Park, was captured Sun
day night near the girls’ camp at Lake
Cohasset. Police said he confessed to
the crime. Early Monday he escaped.
He was seen twice during the day and
shots were fired at him, but he eluded
his pursuers. He lives in the Bronx,
New York.
Arms Company Head Dies.
NEW HAVEN. Conn., August 20 OS’).
—Thomas Gray Bennett, Civil War
veteran and for 21 years president, of
the Winchester Repeating Arms Co.,
died here yesterday. He was 86.
