Ash bum will go to New York today to remain over Sunday. Gen. and Mrs. James A. Drain have arrived at the Willard from their home In Spokane, Wash., and will spend several days in Washington. Mrs. Harris, wife of Rear Admiral Frederic R. Harris, and their daughter, ' Miss Florence R. Harris, who arrived in New York Wednesday aboard the Roma, came to Washington yesterday and will be at the Hotel Martinique for several weeks. Col. Arturo Mercanti of Rome, or ganiser of the Italian air service, who Is in Washington attending the Roads Congress, was the guest of honor at an Informal luncheon today in the May flower given by the air attache of the Italian embassy, Comdr. Paolo Sberna dori. Capt. and Mrs. F. K. Hill, after spending the Summer at Vineyard Haven, Mass., are occupying their suite In the Hotel Grafton. Capt. Thomas J. Frailey has returned to his home, at 1706 M street, from Boston, Mass., where he attended the sessions of the American Legion Con vention. Lieut. Frederic A. Henney, XT. S. A., and Mrs. Henney, who have been sta tioned in Zurich, Switzerland, for two yean, sailed yesterday, with their small son, Frederic A., Jr., and will arrive in Washington Saturday, October 18, when they will visit M». Henney’s par ents, Gen. and Mrs. Amos A. Fries. Lieut, and Mrs. Henney will be sta tioned at Fort du Pont, Del. The first secretary to the United States legation in Denmark and Mrs. Ernest L. Ives, who are now at tl a Mayflower, will leave Washington today for New York preparatory to sailing for Copcnliagen. Mr. O. A. Lyon and his son, Mr. Roland Lyon, sailed yesterday on an extensive cruise of tl)e Mediterranean and will return about the middle of December. Mrs. Robinson Making Brief Visit in Washington. Mrs. Theodore Douglas Robinson of Mohawk, N. Y„ wife of the former Assistant Secretary of the Navy, is spending several days in Washington at the Mayflower. Mrs. William Riley Deeble, formerly of Washington, announces the marriage yesterday of her daughter Dorothy to Mr. Joseph A. Molloy of Laurel, Maas. The marriage took place in the chantry of St. Thomas’ Church by the rector. Rev. Dr. Roelif H. B:ooks. Only members of the families and a few friends were present. After a trip the couple will live in New York City. The bride was graduated from the Holton Arms School in Washington and is a member of the Washington Junior League. She is a sister of Mrs. James Henry Ottley of New York and Glen Cove, the former Miss Margaret Deeble. Mr. Molloy was a captain of Infantry during the World War and received the D. S. C., the Croix de Guerre and two citations. Mis. Thomas C. Dawson entertained at a dinner last night in honor of Gejn. Stanley Ford, the new military attache to the American embassy in Paris. The other guests were Gen. and S irs. Drum, Gen. and Mrs. Frank Kiefer and Capt. and Mrs. des Prieto. Miss Elsie Tuckerman and Miss Ruth Tuckerman entertained informally Wed nesday evening at Tuxrden, home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter R. Tuckerman. at Edgemoor, in compli ment to Miss Carolyn Walker, grand daughter of Col. and Mrs. Harrison Dodge, who will be presented to society November 28. The other guests were Miss Rose Hayes, Miss Betty Sandoz, Mr. Page Hufty, Mr. Kenneth Watson. Mr. Walter Watson, Mr. James Robb and Mr. Henry Beall Gwynn. Mr, and Mrs. Edsel Ford, son and daughter-in-law of Mr. Henry Ford, will arrive in Washington Sunday to attend the orchid show. Mrs. Henry R. Rea of Pittsburgh, will be at the Mayflower until tomorrow afternoon having come to Washington to see how work Is progressing on the Memorial Chapel at Walter Reed Hos pital. Mrs. Rea Is the organizer of the Gray Ladles at Walter Reed. Mrs. George Cabot Lodge will return this evening from New York, where she has been spending a few days at the Madison Hotel. Mr. U. Grant Smith entertained a small party at dinner last evening at the Carlton. Mrs. Francis M. Wigmore has re turned to Washington from Rye Beach, N. H„ and will be at the Mayflower for the early Autumn. Mrs. Ord Preston and her daughter, Miss Eleanor C. Preston, left by airplane for New York Wednesday where they will be at the Savoy-Plaza for about 10 days. Mrs. Eugene R. Woodson and* her daughter. Mrs. Atkinson Hamilton, who has re cently returned from a five-year resi dence in Europe, is the house guest of her aunt, Mrs. George Weed Wallace, at 1661 Crescent place. Mrs. Hamilton is the daughter of the late Col. Benja min Walker Atkinson, U. S. A. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lane will leave today for Devitts Camp, near Williamsport. Pa. They will be accom panied by Mrs. Lawrence Pyle, who will visit her husband, who is staying there.
