I I _ - -- Ik Several Groups Join Drive on Terrorists Who Prey on Legitimate Enterprises. By the Associated Press. CHICAGO, January 18 — Having rid the city of Its ranking liquor gangsters, Chicago has trained its guns on the racketeers who soourge the business field. Prom the terrorist who preys on Cleaners and dyers to the fast-talking ■ecurity salesman who dupes credulent Investors, the city has started a cam paign of elimination against all of them. The drive started after the killing of Benjamin Rosenberg, militant owner of * cleaning and dyeing firm. Their first objective is the elimina tion of the "dry cleaning and financial rackets.” After that they plan to con centrate on labor racketeers, unscrupu E>us employment bureaus, and dishon esty in other lines of business. Spokesmen for the group declared unless their efforts to break the grip Of hoodlums on the cleaning and press ing industry succeeds, the same condi tion will prevail as in the days when Capone and George "Bugs” Moran /ought bloody battles over the right to Victimize shop and plant owners. “There are gangs hired to slug, throw acid, and kill to keep larger gangs in control of the cleaning racket,” Assistant State’s Attorney Ed ward Dufflcy said. “But we have suffi cient strength to overthrow both the gangs or thugs and the gangs which Eire them.” Rosenberg, who fought for 20 years to purge the dry cleaning industry of Racketeering, was knocked unconscious and then shot to death last week near Enters House of Correction HEIRESS SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS FOR SLAYING.
