Huber, β3, Retired at ^ Own Bequest From Federal Bureau.. Completing 36 years in the service of the Federal Government, Albert H. Huber, 63-year-old machinist at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, was retired yesterday at his own request. Fellow workers presented him with a billford containing $100. The presenta tion was made by Malcolm C. Hankins. Mr. Huber, a native of Hamilton, Ohio, came to the Capital in 1896 to accept a position as machinist' at fhtf bureau. In 1900 he was transferred to the Bureau of the Census, where he re mained two years. He re-entered the eervlce in 1903, receiving an appoint ment at the Navy Yard. A year later he was transferred to the Post Office Department and in 1911 returned to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Mr. Huber, who resides at 1305 Tenth itreet. plans to leave with his wife for the Catskill Mountains, where he will make his permanent heme. He is a life member ofLodge No. 15, Β. P. Ο. E. Ettinger, Chicago optician, who died here Thursday from poison, went to his hotel alone. L. J. Ziblich, the driver, identified the dead man as the lone passenger he conveyed to the hotel from the flying field. Ettinger arrived here Wednesday end signed "A. M. Sanderson of St. Louis" and "A. J. Blair of Cleveland" cr the register. Officers had been unable to solve the mystery of the two fiâmes. The body Was sent to Chicago, where police sug gested a kidnaping plot because of Et tinger's abrupt departure from Chicago. Will Build on Q Street. Charles E. STORE CHAINS LISTED Real Estate Boards Publish Di rectory of Headquarters. A directory of chain store head quarters for "service" chains has been published by the National Association of Real Estate Boards through its brokers division. The list is one of four directories covering the head quarters offices of more than 10,000 store chains in 36 lines of business which are being published this year by the division as a special service to its members. A directory of wearing apparel chains and a list of food and house furnishing chains have already been issued. The remaining list, te be published in Oc tober. will be of miscellaneous chains. The 1929 directory listed altogether 4.903 chains in 30 different lines of business. The 1931 publication listed 9.181 chains In 36 lines of business. CHICAGO, 111., August 27.—The to tal dollar volume of real estate mort gages recorded in the principal urban ι centers of the country in Juge showed a slight decline from the figures of the previous month, according to a monthly ; compilation by Nelson. Hunt & Co. Tabulation of report* from 36 dis tricts. on which comparative data is available, comprising more than one half of the urban population of the country, covered in the survey, gave a total of $119 408.153 in real estate mortgages filed in June as compared to a total of $125,399,037 for May, a monthly average of $128,667.200 for the first six months of the current year. and a total of $212,912,087 for June, 1931. Analysis of the figures compiled In the survey show a June decline of 5 per cent from May and approximately 44 per cent from June. 1931. whereas the June decline from the .«ix-month average of the current year was only 7 per cent. Thirteen of the reporting cities com piled in the survey reported a larger volume of real estate mortgages in ït June than In the previous mtoth of May and three reported increases over June. 1931 $7,500 Residence Planned.
