THE Chief Justice and Mrs. Charles Evans Hughes have with them for a visit their daughter, Mrs. Chauneey Lock hart Waddell of New York. Mrs. Waddcll accompanied Mrs. Hughes to the concert of the National Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Hans Kind ler conductor, which was given yester day in Constitution Hall. Mrs. Edward Everett Gann and a party will attend the performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's comir opera, "The Mikado," tonight at 8:30 o'clock In. the Roosevelt High School Audi torium at Thirteenth and Allison streets northwest. The opera which is given under the direction of Miss Estelle Wentworth. is presented as one of the city-wide events of the Com munity Center Department. Mrs. Frederick H. Brooke, Mrs. B. P. Claudel, wife of the dean of the diplomatic corps, will attend the performance in Loew s Fox Theater this evening when Miss Mary Garden, fa mous operatic star and the first woman manager of an opera company, will make her debut cn ihe vaudeville stage. The Ambassador of Turkey, Mr. Ahmet Muhtar; will have guests with him at the performance, and among others who have accepted the invitations are the Minister of Greece and Mme.
