NEW PRESIDENT TO ATTEND BH St. Thomas' Episcopal Pas tor Announces Necessity of Reserving Seats. President Roosevelt, with his family. •«rtll attend services tomorrow at 11 o'clock at St. Thomas'Episcopal Church, Eighteenth and Church streets. Dr. C. Ernest Smith, the rector, an nounced today that, due to the fact that so many applications have been made for seats at the service. It has been found necessary to issue tickets to pew holders. Reservations, however, will be only made up to 11 o'clock. After that the ushers will seat all comers as far as the capacity of the church will allow. It is requested of the pew holders, how ever, that they be in their pews by 10:45 o'clock. During Lent, until Holy week, evening service will be said at 4:30 on Wednes days and Fridays, with visiting clergy preaching on Wednesday and Rev. Dr. Bishop, vicar of St. Thomas', giving the addresses on Fridays, the subject of which will be ' The Work of the Holy Spirit in the Church and In the Indi vidual Christian." On April 2 (Passion Sunday) the rite ef confirmation will be administered. For the younger members of the parish, not yet confirmed, instruction Is given every Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas' Hall. DR. MEEKS TO SPEAK AT CALVARY CHURCH Methodist Choir to Sing Special Numbers at Evening Service. Dr. Benjamin W. Meeks. superin tendent of the Washington District of the Methodist Church, will preach to morrow morning at Calvary Methodist Church. Dr. Vernon N. Ridgely, min ister, will preach at the evening serv ice on "Christ's Position Concerning Gcd and Government." The chorus choir will sin? special numb?rs, and Louis Potter, organist and director of music, will lead the song service, be ginning at 8 o'clock. At the young people's meeting at 7 o'clock Dr. Ridgely will lead the last of the discussions on problems con cerning the Bible. Miss Dorothy Pen tin will have charge of the devotions. The Lenten devotional service will be held Thursday evening In the Guild Hall. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday the women will hold their all-day meet ing. At the missionary program at 1 o'clock Miss Evelyn Pierce of the Bu reau of Indian Affairs will speak on "Industrial Arts of the Indians." The Men's Bible class will have a dinner March 15 at 6:30 p.m., at which si discussion of the Sino-Japanese situ ation will be given, accompanied by moving pictures taken by the speaker ih Manchuria. Ladies are invited. Dinner reservations must b° mads with members of the men's class. Unnoticed, three foxes perched in a tree, watching the preparations and start of a fox hunt of the North Cheshire Hounds at Walton Hill, England, re cently. The incident Is declared to be unprecedented in English fox hunting. When the furred spectators were noticed the entire program was Immediately changed. Hounds were withdrawn some distance, and when a whip was cracked one of the foxes Jumped to the ground, and fled, with the hounds in fuU cry. | He cscaped and the other two waited until the hunters were gone~ then tl^pped-Tway from the tree. ^ Activities in Local Churches Zion Lutheran. AKRON TO GO TO PANAMA I Dirigible to Leave Lakehurst on i Wednesday if Weather Permits. With favorable weather conditions, the Navy dirigible U. S. S. Akron will leave Lakehurst, N. J., Wednesday for a flight to the Panama Canal Zone, stopping en route at Miami, Fla. The Navy Department said this is to test the water recovery apparatus under tropical conditions and to investigate sites for a mooring mast in the Pan ama area.
