Johnson, 55. a consulting engineer and a former colonel in the United States Army, was found dead yester day in his office by a watchman. He is believed to have died of heart dis ease. Johnson's body was found slumped I over papers on his desk, and police ! officials said he apparently htfd been stricken while working. He had been dead six hours. After funeral services here tomor row his body will be taken to Wash ington. D. C . for burial in Arlington Cemetery. Services will be held there Wednesday morning. Then he became assistant directoi of a special department Investigating the effect of the Chicago drainage canal cn the water supply of St. Louis following which he was in charge ol tests of systems for the purification ol Philadelphia's water supply. In 1902 and 1903 he was in charge ol the first modern water filtratior system of the rapid sand type built ir America, which still serves the New Jersey municipalities of Paterson Passaic and Montclair. NEW HAVEIJ, Corn , April 2 (/PV— Joseph Roy Ellis, sr., 47, Yale reg istrar of freshmen since 1920, died yesterday in New Haven Hospital after undergoing two operations in as many weeks for appendicitis. Comdr. Charles Clark Ammermsn. who died March 20 in San Diego. Calif., were to be held today at Arlington National Cemetery. Comdr. Ammerman was well known in this city, where he had served at the Naval Air Station in Anrcostia, and at the Naval Hospital. Comdr. Ammerman came to Wash ington shortly before the turn of the century and was graduated from the George Washington University Medi cal School. He served as medical officer of the Madeira Mamore Railroad during its construction in Brazil and Bolivia. He received a commission in the Navy fit the outbreak of the World War and served on various transport ships as surgeon. He was mired in 1932 for disability and moved to Elmira. N. Y . to make his home. Later he was visiting rela tives in California at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow, Mrs Lucille Hamden Ammerman; three daughters. Mrs. Harold K. Martin. Corning. N. Y.: Mrs. Frank T. Nelson, Grosse Pointe Farms. Mich., and Mrs. Willis w. Pace of San Diego: a brother, Ansel Ammerman of Ulster. I Pa., and a sister. Mrs. A. D. Charles N. Osgood. Washington rep resentative of the New York Central Railroad, died yesterday in Garfield Hospital. He had been ill only a short time. Mr. Osgood, who lived at 1713 P street, was in his 75th year. Funeral services for Mr. Osgood will be held at 2:30 pm. tomorrow in the Churrh of the Epiphany. After the services, which will be conducted bv Rev. Ze Barney T. Phillips, pastor of the churrh and chaplain of the Sen ate. Mr. Osgood's body will be sent to Waltham. Mass., for burial.
