Basil Lowell Postlethwaite, chemi cal engineer for the Owens Illinois Glass Co. In Newark. Ohio, died there yesterday of double pneumonia. It was learned here today. A native of Washington, he had married Miss Eloyse Sargeet. daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Sargent, 3026 Twenty-sixth street northeast, only 11 days before. The young couple had known each other since attending McKinley High School here together. Mr. Postlethwaite was an honor graduate of Purdue, 1932. Besides his widow, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Bessie Postlethwaite, 1451 Park road. His mother and mother-in-law were both at his side when he died. funeral sendees were to be held in J^Srark this afternoon. The body will be cremated. BURIED AT CASANOVA Mrs. W. H. Hackley of Virginia Survived by Five Children. Special Dispatch to The Star. WARRENTON. Va„ January 3 — Funeral senlees for Mrs. W. H. Hack ley, 79. widow of William H. Hackley, who died Tuesday, were held today at her home at Casanova. She is survived by five children, Charles Hackley and WiUlam Hackley, Washington, D. C.; Robert Hackley of Texas, Mrs. Bertha Herbert and Mrs. Dendrick Hedrick of Casanova. AENAS D. CASEY 65, DIES AT HOME HERE Native of Ireland, Had Lived in Capital 48 Yean—In Heal Estate Business. Aenas D. Casey. 65. for 48 years a resident of the District and for many years engaged in financial and real estate enterprises, died Tuesday at his home, 2941 Upton street, after a brief illness. Mr. Casey was born In County Kerry, Ireland, on April 1, 1869, and educated in the monastery of Mill town, Ireland. He came to America in 1886 and became interested in finance and In real estate. He re tired three years ago from business with which he had been engaged here for 45 years. He was a member of St. Thomas’ Church and the Holy Name Society. Surviving him are his widow. Mrs. Ellen C. Casey, and two daughters, Miss Helen Casey and Miss Prances Casey, who also live at 2941 Upton street. Funeral services will be held to morrow at 9:30 a m. In St. Thomas’ Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Burial Today JOSEPH D. DREYFISS, Retail merchant, at 1635 H street for many years, was to be buried today in the Washington Hebrew Cemetery. Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. at the home, 1753 Lanier place. Mr. Drey fuss, a member of many organizations, including the Pro bus Club, of which he was a mem ber of the Board of Directors, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mal vine M. Drey fuss; two sons, two sisters end a brother, Benjamin D. Dreyfuss, with whom he was as sociated in business. He died Tuesday after a long illness. FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR MRS. Special Dispatch to The Star, SILVER SPRING, Md„ January Funeral services for Mrs. Lula House holder McMaster, employe of the United States Treasury Department for 44 years, were held yesterday from her residence on First avenue, Rev. Ralph D. Smith, pastor of the Wood side M. E Church officiating. Burial was at Lovettsville, Va. Mrs. McMaster, who was bom in Loudoun County. Va., died Monday after a long illness. She was em ployed at the United States Mint in Philadelphia and later transferred to the Appointment Division of the Treasury Department, where she was pensioned in 1931 because of ill health. She had been a resident of the com munity almost 20 years. Surviving are her husband. Herbert G. McMaster, and three sisters, ail of Washington. HEART ATTACK FATAL TO WOMAN IN TAXICAB Mrs. Jean Mitchell, 1222 Jefferson street, was stricken with a heart at tack last night while riding downtown with two women companions in a taxicab. The driver rushed her to Garfield Hospital, where she was pro nounced dead upon arrival. Mrs. Mitchell was the widow of W. O. Mitchell, formerly with the Inter state Commerce Commission, who died last June. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Marian A. Mitchell, and two sons, James P. and William D. Mitchell.
