President Roosevelt demonstrated his interest in American art yesterday afternoon by spending more than an hour inspecting the fourteenth bien nial exhibition of contemporary Amor lean oil paintings at the Corcoran : Gallery of Art. Accompanied by Mrs. Roosevelt, the President methodically visited all of the galleries, in which are displayed the 428 pictures selected by a jury of noted artists as worthy of inclusion in the Corcoran's exclusive show. C. Powell Minnigcrode, director of the gallery, conducted the tour. Of personal interest to the Presi dent were two portraits of himself— one on canvas and one in plaster.
