Shedding its sweetness dsy and night. As it grew and blossomed fair and tan Slowly rising to loftier height. It came to a crevice in the wall. Through which there shone a beam of light. Onward it erect with added strength With never a thought of fear or pride It followed the light througb the crevice length And unfolded itself on the other side Shall claim of death cause us to grieve And make our couraae faint or fall? Nay. let ua faith and hope receive— The rose still grows beyond the wall Not passed away the love. So rich, so pure, so true. But perfected above. Ever to endure. Not hushed the pleasant song That used to greet our ear, But amid the angel song sounding more sweet and clear. Her dear voice we seem to hear.
