GEN. BULLARD RITES TOMORROW MORNING Retired Interior Employe For merly Was Surveyor General for Montana. Funeral services for Gen. John Gil man Bullard, 63, who died Saturday at the Kennedy-Warren apartments after a long illness, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow from the W. W. Chambers funeral home, 1400 Chapin street. FLORENCE OWENS DIES AT HOME HERE Funeral Services Will Be at Per* ryville, Md., Wednesday Afternoon. Mrs. Florence D. Owens, 83, died early today at the home of her daugh ter, Mrs. J. Stacy Gorrell, 3700 T street, after an Illness of about four months. The body will be taken to Perry vllle, Md., her former home, where funeral services will be held Wednes day at 2 p.m. Mrs. Owens was born in Leesburg, Va.. but moved with her family to Cecil County. Md., and spent most of her life at Rising Sun and Perry ville. She had been In Washington for about 10 years. Her husband, Ira W. Owens, died many years ago. Her daughter, Mrs. Gorrell, and grand daughter, Mrs. Herman A. Hunter, survive. Lights Irk Astronomers. Rev. Dr. Edward S. Dunlap and Canon Raymond L. Wolvern, both of Washington Cathedral, will read the services. Dr. Godfrey Chobot, pastor of the Sixth Presbyterian Church, died yes terday in Asheville, N. C., after a long illness, according to word re ceived here last night. He had entered a sanitarium there in May to receive treatment for a tubercular affliction. His daughter, Miss Pauline Chobot, a teacher in the public schools here, was with him at the time of death. Dr. Chobot had held several pas torates in New York State before coming to Washington 12 years ago. Under his direction, the Sixth Pres byterian Church here erected a new building at Sixteenth and Kennedy streets during his period as pastor. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced. Dr. Chobot's wife, who died about five years ago, was buried in Utica, N. Y. RITES WEDNESDAY FOR ALEXANDRIAN James Edward Shinn, Retired Navy Yard Foreman, Prom inent Mason. ALEXANDRIA, Va., September 2.— Services for James Edward Shinn, re tired Navy Yard foreman and promi nent Virginia Mason, 205 South Royal street, who died yesterday morning after an extended illness, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock in St. Paul’s Church, of which he was a member for many years. Mr. S.hinn was a son of the late James W. Shinn and Margaret Shinn. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise M. Shinn; his mother and a brother, Elton Shinn. He was a past master of Alexan dria-Washington Masonic Lodge and its treasurer for more than 25 years. He also was a member of Mount Ver non Chapter, Royal Arch Masons; of the Scottish Rites. Acca Temple, Mystic Shrine of Richmond and a past patron of Martha Washington Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. At one time Mr. Shinn was secre tary of the board of police commis sioners under the old city government, and was an election official in the first ward for a number of years. DIES SUDDENLY L. A. Dohoney Expires at Mount Alto After Collapse. Ludorph A Dohoney. 48, of 1014 Montana avenue northeast, died yes terday at Mount Alto Hospital, where he had been taken a few hours earlier after he collapsed at his home. Death Is believed the result of a fractured skull received in an automobile acci dent about a year ago. Dohoney, a World War veteran, was an employe of the Post Office Depart ment.
