United States Government issues kept pace with corporate liens, regis tering numerous gains of 1-32 to 7-32 of a point. Among the important gainers in the general list were American & Foreign Power 5s, American Rolling Mill 4'is, Baltimore & Ohio 41-is and Interna tional Telephone 5s. Cotton consumed during April was reported by the Census Bureau today to have totaled 576,762 bales of lint and 61,450 of linters, compared with 548,913 and 60,811 during March this year, and 468,402 and 69,341 during April last year. Cotton on hand April 30 was re ported held as follows: In consuming establishments, 1,190, 413 bales of lint and 250,061 of linters, compared with 1,334,394 and 257,632 on March 31 this year, and 1,062,143 and 251,701 on April 30 last year. In public storage and at compresses, 6,020,526 bales of lint and 61,543 of linters, compared with 6,570,182 and 65,128 on March 31 this year, and 7,203,407 and 54,296 on April 30 last year. Imports for April totaled 12,629 bales, compared with 15,662 for March this year and 9,060 for April last year. Exports for April totaled 352,710 bales of lint and 12,532 of linters, compared with 404,710 and 15,175 for March this year and 323,155 and 15,657 for April last year. Cotton spindles active during April numbered 23,123,536, compared with 23,175,502 during March this year, and 23,854,052 during April last year. Cotton consumed during April in j cotton-growing States totaled 486,749 bales compared with 464,934 in March this year, and 379,390 in April last year. Cotton on hand April 30 included: In consuming establishments in cot ton-growing States. 972,743 bales, compared with 1,112,177 on March 31 this year, and 824,259 on April 30 last year.
